    The likelihood of a Federal Reserve interest rate cut by the end of the year fell to 15 percent from 35 percent at the end of June, according to prices on federal funds futures. The central bank kept its benchmark rate at 5.25 percent on June 28, saying inflation remained its "predominant" concern. Policy makers last raised borrowing costs in June 2006.
